The Attorney General’s Office obtained a conviction of 17 years in prison against Víctor Manuel Durán Ramírez, for his responsibility in the homicide of a man in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander).

The facts took place on May 17, 2021, when the convicted man surprised the victim on a public road in the Viejo Escobal neighborhood and shot him several times, causing his immediate death.

The man was arrested in flagrante delicto by Police officers when he tried to flee the scene.

The judicial police work carried out by the investigators such as: interviews, inspection of the scene and photographic identification, made it possible to identify Durán Ramírez as the author of the attack.

Durán Ramírez accepted his responsibility the crimes of aggravated homicide and manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.

The convicted person will continue serving his sentence in La Modelo prison in Cúcuta.
