After approving the evidence provided by a prosecutor from the so-called Unidad de Reacción Inmediata URI (Immediate Reaction Unit), Víctor Alfonso Heredia Palacios, alias ‘El Siya’, allegedly responsible for the murder of a man belonging to the LGBTQ community in Cartagena, was sent to prison.
The facts took place on June 1st in Camino del Medio neighborhood, where the corpse of the 69-year-old victim was found with sharp weapon wounds.
With the aid of the community that alerted the National Police of what had happened, the 34-year-old man who was involved in this case was arrested a few moments later. He apparently fled the scene walking with his bloody clothes. During an inspection, the weapon with which he allegedly committed the murder was found.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with homicide, but he did not plead guilty to the charges.
He was sent to San Sebastián Ternera Prison in Cartagena.
