At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Jeferson Alexis Reyes Caña, alias Grande, alleged leader of the FARC dissidents Urías Rondón.
According to the investigation, the defendant participated in at least seven homicides of indigenous leaders in the rural area of Nariño. The crimes took place between 2022 and 2023 in Llorente, La Guayacana, Tumaco and Barbacoas.
This same person, apparently, planned attacks against law enforcement authorities in Ricaurte, Mallama, Tumaco and Barbacoas. In one of these attacks, two Police officers were injured.
The man was detained by the Technical Investigative Corps (CTI), the Police and the National Army in Policarpa.
Also, progress was made in the investigations regarding the murder of indigenous leaders: Gerardo Nai Pastacuas, Berna Nastacuas Pai, Marlon Hernando García Pascal of the Awa ethnic group, Jhon Kevin Tainus Guanga, Dioselin García Bisbicus, Aejandro Taicus Pascal and Didier Cifuentes Celis.
Due to these facts, a prosecutor charged alias Grande with aggravated homicide; manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition; and aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime. He did not plead guilty to the charges.
