Ten alleged members of the ‘Legendarios’ were sent to prison.
A specialized prosecutor from the Anti-Narcotics Unit of the Sectional Office in Tolima prosecuted 10 alleged members of the criminal group ‘Los Legendarios’, that were involved in the sale of narcotics in El Espinal (Tolima).
According to the investigation, people involved would be behind a wave of violence and insecurity that was affecting this and other populations in the area and that was derived from the illicit sale of these substances and the confrontation with other criminal groups in the territorial dispute over local drug trafficking.
People arrested during operations were: Franklin Penagos Yaima, Óscar Javier Caballero Guzmán, John Fredy Barrios Barrero, Elena Carolina Lemus Trujillo, Germán Ricardo Ospina Velasco, Víctor Alfonso Gaviria, Brayan Stiven Cardozo Barrero, Pablo Antonio Albadan, Juan Carlos Mirquez Oliveros and Jhonatan Gilberto Reyes Rodriguez.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged them with aggravated criminal conspiracy, trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics, manufacturing, trafficking or possession of firearms and illicit use of personal property or real estate. They did not plead guilty to the charges. A judge imposed a prison sentence.
Most of the defendants have criminal records for aggravated robbery; manufacture, trafficking and possession of firearms or ammunition, damage to property of others, aggravated domestic violence and trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics and injuries.
