A prosecutor assigned to the Sectional Office in Casanare prosecuted Braulio Javier Hernández Marín and Jenny Alexandra Ospina Vásquez, for their alleged participation in the kidnapping of a woman in Casanare.
The kidnapping took place on November 14, 2023 on a farm located in the rural area of Hato Corozal, where the victim was relinquished of his belongings and taken to an unknown location by six people, apparently including those currently prosecuted, who would do part of the criminal group ‘Los del Norte’.
After a demand of 800 million pesos in exchange for not attacking the woman, the family could paid 110 million to the kidnappers. The victim was released on November 20 in Paz de Ariporo (Casanare).
Hernández Marín and Ospina Vásquez were arrested in Villavicencio (Meta) and Bogotá, respectively, by Gaula Casanare. The Prosecutor’s Office charged them with kidnapping with extortion and theft. The defendants did not plead guilty.
The judge imposed a prison sentence against Hernández Marín and house arrest against Ospina Vásquez.
