The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted Jhon Jairo Hoyos Arenas, who was arrested in flagrante delicto when he apparently mobilized people who would be allegedly recruited to join FARC dissidents.
When corroborating the identities of the occupants, three minors were found. They accused Hoyos Arenas of having picked them up in El Tambo (Cauca) and transferring them to Calamar (Guaviare), where they would allegedly be handed over to FARC dissidents.
The minors were placed under the authority of the Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar (Colombian Welfare Institute) for the restoration of their rights.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with illicit recruitment, but he did not plead guilty to the charges. A judge imposed a prison sentence.
