The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted Roque Toro Carrascal, Jesús Antonio Amaro Ascanio and Carmen Emiro Carrascal Carrascal, alleged members of the criminal group La Provincia. These people were arrested on August 1 by National Police in Ocaña (Norte de Santander).

The investigations carried out made it possible to show that ‘La Provincia’ is involved in the sale of narcotics in small quantities in different sectors of Ocaña. Likewise, it is believed that the defendants were in charge of transporting coca base in motorcycle to the department of Atlántico, to be later commercialized.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged these people with the crimes of conspiracy to commit a crime and trafficking, manufacture or possession of narcotics. They did not plead guilty to the charges.  For his part, the judge pronounced a prison sentence against them.
