After his arrest which was carried out by CTI in conjunction with Military Gaula, the Prosecutor’s Office obtained a restrictive measure of freedom against Carlos Alberto Cerón Vargas for being the alleged perpetrator of aggravated extortion of which a man was a victim in Gigante(Huila).

The victim denounced that on August 6 of this year he was contacted by a man, who was prosecuted, known as alias Guarín, and who identified himself as a member of the Farc dissents that operated in the rural area of Vegalarga in Neiva (Huila) and who apparently asked for 180 million pesos in exchange for not attempting on his life and his family.

With text messages, he also asked the victim to give him the sum of money in exchange for getting Cerón Vargas out of the way, who apparently was the one who ordered the extortion and who provided the information about him so that they could carry out the economic demands.

It is worth recalling that in August of this year Carlos Alfredo Guarín González, alias Guarín, was arrested in flagrante delicto when he received 30 million pesos as a result of economic demands.

Cerón Vargas was arrested by virtue of a court order on the road that leads from Gigante to Zuluaga (Huila).
