The Office of the Attorney General charged Yair Fernando Mejía Picón before a judge (sentenced in absentia) for his alleged responsibility for the crime of aggravated murder.

The facts took place on November 13, 2016 in Villas del Nogal neighborhood in Bucaramanga, (Santander), when Reinaldo Araujo Cantillo was injured in a fight and due to the severity of the injuries he arrived without vital signs.

According to the investigation, the fugitive would be the one who attacked the victim with a knife and then he escaped. Therefore, the 11th Court ordered the issuance of the arrest warrant against Mejía Picón in order to serve a prison term.
