Alias ​​Alirio or Castillo would be the criminal organization´s second in command and would also be involved in the killings of two civilians. The events attributed to him were perpetrated between 2017 and 2020 in the municipality of Nariño.

The Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, announced that the arrest of José Alirio Hurtado, alias Alirio o Castillo, the alleged second ringleader of the criminal organization Los Contadores, which operates in that area, was carried out in Tumaco (Nariño) by the institution with the cooperation of the National Police.

‘Alirio’, who was listed among the most wanted in the Department of Nariño, allegedly committed crimes in Bajo Mira and Frontera for more than 20 years, as well as in the urban area of ​​Tumaco.

The Office of the Attorney General´s investigation made it possible to collect conclusive evidence, such as wiretappings, that prove the criminal behavior of this person and other members of this criminal organization who allegedly coordinated the murders in the municipality.

José Alirio Hurtado is allegedly responsible for at least five murders that took place between 2017-2020, including that of the social and religious leader Luz Yenni Montaño, and two people in process of reincorporation.

In addition, he would be involved in the forced displacement of several families who had to leave their territory in 2020 in Bajo Mira and Frontera.

His criminal activities would also be related to drug trafficking and the kidnapping of a citizen in the area of Cajapí in Tumaco.

According to the evidence, this person was also part of criminal organizations such as Los Rastrojos, Daniel Aldana and La Gente del Orden.

The Office of the Attorney General will charge him with aggravated murder, forced displacement, kidnapping, conspiracy to commit a crime and drug trafficking.
