In record time and in less than 24 hours, CTI units of the Office of the Attorney General, in a joint effort with Gaula (Army) and the National Police, arrested an individual in the city of Medellín (Antioquia) who was identified as the alleged perpetrator of the death of his own 18-month-old daughter, this December 17.
“Society find this event that occurred in the municipality of Rionegro repugnant. As Attorney General, it hurts me that these things occur, as public servants it hurts us that these events arise country´s interest, but we are not going to lower our guard”, said Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa.
In compliance with the investigative strategy for the clarification of facts that threaten the integrity of girls, boys and adolescents defined by the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, it was possible to prove that the alleged perpetrator had beaten the minor for a revenge against his ex-partner and girl´s mother.
The alleged murderer admitted that he had murdered the minor. It was learned that the woman had denounced him in for domestic violence in previous days.
“We are going to charge him with aggravated femicide before a supervisory judge. the Attorney General’s Office continues acting against criminals and calls citizens’ attention to join efforts to protect our children and adolescents. We are not going to allow impunity acts in this country”, emphasized the Attorney General.
