Two alleged perpetrators were arrested. The Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, stated that this legal action is the result of the work of the special task force that was assigned from the moment the crime was informed.  

In 10 days, the Attorney General’s Office and it’s Technical Investigative Corps (Cuerpo Técnico de investigación CTI) clarified the murder of five people which took place on August 21 in the rural area El Caracol, ​​Arauca. 

The Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, explained that the investigations that were ordered in the beginning allowed to collect probative material that would hold the Residual Organized Armed Group (Gaor) – Structure 10 responsible for the murder.

In that sense, two people who were part of the illegal organization were arrested and they were notified in the place where they remain imprisoned for the commission of other crimes. 

The evidence shows that Dilia Elizabeth Achagua Maldonado, alias Alejandra, planned together with with Exequiel Loaiza Guzmán, alias Urias, the commission of the murder from the Arauca Police Station, where she remains detained. One of the victims of the multiple murder allegedly gave information to the authorities so that, alias Alejandra could be arrested. 

This criminal action took place on August 21, in the rural area of ​​Arauca, and as a result, Jhersson Gabriel Zapara Artahona, Carlos Eduardo Sandon Galindez, José Gregorio Figueira Blanco, Ángel Abel Briceño Araque, and Eduar Rafael Campos Zapata died.
