In the development of the policy of prioritizing cases on crimes that affect the physical and sexual integrity of children and teenagers, the Office of the Attorney General through the Branch Office in Caquetá prosecuted 20 people.
Thanks to the investigations carried out by members of the judicial police, their identification was achieved. In the last two weeks, members of the Technical Investigative Corps (Cuerpo Técnico de Investigación CTI in Spanish), the National Police and Army carried out operations in different municipalities of that Department which allowed to arrest the suspects, most of them, in Florence.
Among the people prosecuted for sexual acts with a child under 14 years of age; abusive sexual assault with a child under 14 years, and others for sexual assault, there are two people who allegedly assaulted adult women. In one of the cases, the victim was the defendant´s lessee.
It has been established that the victims, whose ages range between 4 and 13 years, have been raped by relatives or acquaintances who apparently took advantage of their closeness, relationship and familiarity to subject the victims to harassment.
On the other hand, the Office of the Attorney General charged two men who despite the fact that they were fully aware that their partners were minors, they intimated with them.
The municipalities in which these events took plave were Florencia, Belén de Los Andaquíes and Cartagena del Chairá, among others.
