Thanks to the investigations and the judicial actions carried out by the Office of the Attorney General, two alleged members of the network known as MRP were notified of an arrest warrant issued against them in order to serve a prison sentence for their alleged participation in the attack against the Andino shopping center and in other 9 terrorist acts in Bogotá and Pereira.
The two defendants, identified as César Andrés Barrera Téllez and Cristian Santiago Sandoval Moreno, will be brought before a supervisory judge in Bogotá to legalize the proceeding.
These people were released on June 2 regarding a process that had been followed since August 2018 for the offense of rebellion. The current arrest warrant was initially issued in September 2018 by the 11th Criminal Court of the Circuit of Bogotá, which, in a second instance, postponed the measure of detention that was imposed on an investigation for detonating explosive devices between 2015 and 2017, one of them at the Andino shopping center.
Subsequently, in September 2019, the 21st Municipal Criminal Court (Supervisory Court) in Cali stated that the arrest warrant was still in force.
The Office of the Attorney General makes this information public for reasons of general interest.
