A judge in Bucaramanga (Santander) who has jurisdiction over this matter ratified plea bargain agreed between the Office of the Attorney General and the defense lawyer of Juan Guillermo Valderrama, through which the defendant pleaded guilty to murder charges in regard to his partner, the Chilean citizen Ilse Amory Ojeda González.
By virtue of the agreement, Valderrama will be sentenced to 36 years and 6 months in prison for aggravated femicide and forced disappearance. In addition, he must pay the victim’s family COP 8 million.
After a year of investigations in which the Office of the Attorney General obtained irrefutable evidence about the liability of the defendant, this person accepted liability for the crime committed on March 30, 2019 in a rural area of the municipality of Rionegro (Santander).
