One of the individuals under investigation managed to have a catalog with photos of more than 100 children which were offered to national and foreign citizens.

With the main objective of protecting children and teenagers from sexual exploitation and other scourges, the Office of the Attorney General, the National Police, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, the Mayor’s Office of Medellin and Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar (Icbf)* in coordination with US authorities carried out a transnational operation that allowed to dismantle a criminal organization that committed offenses in the main city.

The investigation began at the end of 2017 when the Office of the Attorney General received an anonymous letter informing that a 20 year-old young man (approximately) contacted minors residing in the northeastern part of Medellín and neighborhood named Cabañas of the municipality of Bello (Antioquia) in order to engage them in sexual activities with foreigners, in exchange for money.

According to the source, after receiving the payments, the teenagers had to give a percentage to the alleged procurer.
