The 39th Municipal Court (control de garantias) in Medellín (Antioquia) issued a preventive detention order with imprisonment for Gerardo Antonio Chavarría Jaramillo, aka Macoco.
Chavarría was accused by the Office of the Attorney General of being the alleged ringleader of the 18 Residual Armed Group (Grupo Armado Organizado Residual (GAOR)) of the demobilized Farc who commits crimes in the municipality of Ituango (Antioquia) and who is linked to the death of former FARC combatant José Leandro Chavarría Castrillón.
‘Macoco’ will face charges of aggravated criminal conspiracy aimed at committing homicide, drug trafficking, extortion and forced displacement in his quality of ringleader.
