Former legal advisor of prison in Apartadó (Antioquia) has been sentenced for favoring escape of ringleader of the so-called Clan del Golfo

The defendant reached a pre-agreement with the Office of the Attorney General and pled guilty to five charges

After approving an agreement between the Office of the Attorney General and the defendant’s lawyer, the First Circuit Court of Apartadó (Antioquia) sentenced lawyer Elizabeth Cossio Carabalí to 6 years and 9 months in prison for the crimes of aiding and abetting, criminal conspiracy, forgery of a public document, false identity, favoring inmates’ escape. A house arrest order was issued.
