Office of the Attorney General appealed judge´s decision who denied a preventive detention order against Yara Malo for aggravated extortion

The Office of the Attorney General appealed decision made by the 72nd Criminal Court in Bogotá (Judge of Guarantees), according to which, requirements to deprive Yara Milena Malo Benitez of her liberty are not met.

However, the Office of the Attorney General considers that the defendant will continue committing criminal activities since “it is not an isolated incident, but a repetitive behavior” according to the evidentiary material gathered in the process.
