The Office of the Attorney General and National Police in Colombia launched a Virtual System to File Complaints (Sistema Nacional de Denuncia Virtual) that will allow citizens to report through internet crimes that affect their lives the most.

In order for citizens to counteract difficulties when reporting a crime, the Office of the Attorney General and National Police have launched the virtual system to file complaints “Adenunciar” (Sistema Nacional de Denuncia Virtual “Adenunciar”).

Initially, this tool will process complaints filed by citizens on six crimes which are affecting public safety and do not require a medical-legal examination: thefts, robberies, burglaries, extortions, cybercrimes, and material on child sexual exploitation.

These crimes were selected since they are the most frequently reported in the whole country. In 2017 there were 692.395 complaints, 182.989 were related to theft which represents the 26%; a fourth part of these complaints.
