The Office of the Attorney General questioned contractor and architect Héctor Julio Gómez as a witness in a process related to irregular awarding of contracts on roads in Bogotá denominated contract carousel (“Carrusel de la contratación” in Spanish).
The contractor who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for these facts stated under oath that in year 2009, agreements were agreed with the mayor of that time, Samuel Moreno, in exchange for being selected in a public tender.
*Contract carousel: It is an ongoing investigation into corruption and irregularities concerning public construction in Bogotá, among others.
