At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, the 35th Municipal Court in Bogotá (Guarantee Court) sentenced former governor in La Guajira, Oneida Pinto Pérez, to prison for the alleged commission of embezzlement, undue interest in the execution of contracts, misrepresentation, and execution of contracts without compliance of the legal requirements.
According to the Office of the Attorney General, the governor may affect the criminal process, in the event she is released, due to her politic power and her influence over law enforcement in La Guajira.
