Twelve (12) people who were accused of contaminating Caquetá and Putumayo rivers with chemicals used for illegal extraction of minerals were prosecuted. National Police authorities and the criminal Investigation Team (CTI) from the Office of the Attorney General participated it this operation.

Twelve people, including a member of the Navy and the mayor of Puerto Leguízamo (Putumayo) were arrested in Bogotá, Cali and several municipalities of Putumayo as a result of an operation which was carried by the National Police authorities, Navy and the criminal Investigation Team (CTI) from the Office of the Attorney General. This operation which was led by the the Attorney General´s Office allowed to dismantle an organization engaged in the illegal mining activities in the country.
