Thanks to operations carried out by the Criminal Investigation Team (CTI) and National Police, two people were arrested due to the murder of the 26 year-old male Jeison Méndez which took place at Villa Alsacia neighborhood on September 17th.
The first arrest took place on September 27 at 5 p.m at Ciudad Jardin neighborhood located at the southern area of Bogotá. The 26 year old man is considered the person who was at the passenger seat and shot at Jeison Méndez.
According to criminal records, the above mentioned arrested person was released on September 8th by virtue of a decision made by a sentencing judge (juez de ejecución de penas) in Tunja (Boyacá) after being prosecuted for committing manufacture, trafficking and possession of firearms.
In a second operation which was conducted this morning in Chaparral (Tolima), the second alleged person involved in the same case was arrested. He is accused of driving the motorcycle and he had been sued for personal injuries.
*Fletero (fleteo): Colombian term used for a criminal who coordinates with other people some actions “fleteos” in order to steal money from a person who withdraws money from the bank.
