Between September 6 and 9,  Attorney General, Néstor Humberto Martínez Neira will make his first official visit to the United States in order to strengthen the international judicial cooperation, particularly, in regards to the fight  against illegal economy of criminal organizations and corruption cartels.

On September 6, he will will hold a meeting in Washington with US Attorney General, Loretta E. Lynch; Assistant Attorney General, Leslie R. Caldwell and Deputy Assistant Attorney General, Kenneth Blanco.

In addition, Attorney General in Colombia will also hold a meeting with organizations from the United States which are engaged in the pursuit of illicit assets:

• Internal Revenue Service – (IRS) Criminal Investigations. Richard Weber- Director and Eric Hilton-International Director.

• U. S. Department of Treasury, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network –(FINCEN)

• U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement –(ICE-), Sarah R. Saldaña – Director.

Martinez Neira will also hold a summit with the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), James B. Comey, and the director of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Charles P. Rosenberg. On Thursday, at the end of his visit, the Attorney General  will attend the XX CAF Annual Conference (Development Bank of Latin America) in which  more than 1,000 leaders from the Americas will meet in Washington, D.C to debate on the main challenges of Latin America in the global dynamic scenario  and challenges America must face. The Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, former Presidents of Costa Rica and Panama, Laura Chinchilla and Martin Torrijos respectively, will attend the summit.
