A woman was appointed as the first director of the Special Investigation Unit against Criminal Organizations which was created in agreements in Havana (Cuba)

The Colombian Attorney General, Néstor Humberto Martínez Neira, appointed Alexandra Valencia Molina first director of “Unidad Especial de Investigación para el Desmantelamiento de las Organizaciones Criminales Responsables de Homicidios y Masacres o que atenten contra Defensores/as de Derechos Humanos, Movimientos Sociales o Movimientos Políticos” ¹

This lawyer who was born in Bogotá and worked as president of the Justice and Peace Chamber at the High Court (Sala de Justicia y Paz del Tribunal Superior) in Bogotá leads this Unit that emerged from those commitments made by government in La Havana (Cuba).

1. Special Investigation Unit for Dismantling Criminal Organizations which are responsible for Killings
and Massacres or attacks against Human Rights, Social or Political Movements Defenders.
