At the request of the Specialized Prosecutor´s Office delegated before Gaula, preventive detention orders with imprisonment were issued against three (3) individuals who allegedly extorted farmers, businessmen and farms’ owners on behalf of the illegal group “Libertadores del Vichada” in municipalities such as Puerto López and Puerto Gaitán (Meta).
In the so called “Audiencias Concentradas”*, the 9th Municipal Judge with supervisory functions “control de garantías” sent Edilton Correa Rodríguez (24 years old) alias “Camilo” (hired killer and bloc´s collector) and Nancy Patricia Velásquez Velásquez (35 years old) alias “la Paisa” to prison.
*A hearing in which more than one request is processed at the same time (legalize an arrest, bring charges or issue a preventive detention order).
