The National Prosecutor´s Office specialized in Organized Crime (Dirección Nacional de Fiscalía Especializada contra el Crimen Organizado) held a ceremony to recognize all public servants who have been an essential part in this evolution process and have contributed with their work and commitment to fulfill the Office of the Attorney General´s objectives.
Attorney General, Eduardo Montealegre Lynett, assumed his position in 2012 and as part of the modernization project inside the institution, the National Prosecutor´s Office specialized in Organized Crime emerged on April 2, 2014 by virtue of Decision 572.
The historical background for the emergence of this Office goes back to august 15th, 2008 by virtue of Decision 5103 when it was created a special group to investigate criminal behaviors allegedly committed by emerging criminal gangs.
