After eight months of implementing the prioritization plan “Plan de Prioritización” in Tumaco and Barbacoas (Nariño), the Interim Attorney General Jorge Fernando Perdomo Torres visited that port in order to inform about progresses and results produced by the implementation of this strategy at the sectional Office in Nariño with support of the National Office of Sectional Offices and Public Safety, the National Office to coordinate Specialized Judicial Police Units and advisers from the Office of the Attorney General Headquarters.
In order to develop this plan, 10 main themes were analyzed in this way: transversal theme which impacted “Daniel Aldana” Farc´s mobile column (Columna Móvil), criminal organizations self-financed through drug trafficking, extortion and illegal mining; phenomena such as homicides, forced displacement, sexual violence, domestic violence, organized crime in Barbacoas and crimes against Public Administration.
Attorney General highlighted that for the purpose of obtaining results, it is necessary to strengthen missional area. Therefore, 10 new offices were created in order to increase this work team. That means Specialized Prosecutor´s Offices, Sectional and Local Offices; as well as the Sectional Division of CTI Judicial Police in Tumaco. A total of 19 Offices will operate at the Prosecutor´s Office in that region.
