The Second Specialized Criminal Court of the Circuit of “Decongestion”* in Antioquia sentenced Aldides de Jesús Durango, alias René, former ringleader of the so called Bloc “Bloque Suroeste Antioqueño” to 6 years and 9 months in prison for the kidnapping of 5 farmers who were forced to carry short and long-range weapons.
Fats occurred in a rural settlement called “La Mina” located in the municipality of Betulia (Antioquia) in February 2000, when an armed group took away Néstor Andrés Tuberquia, Sergio Alonso Vargas Rojas, Iván Tuberquia Arenas and brothers Javier and Uriel de Jesús Vargas Durango and threatened and forced them to carry equipment to the rural settlement called Aguamala.
