Indictment against 10 soldiers for the murder of peasants was ratified

A prosecutor delegated before the Supreme Court in Medellín ratified the indictment issued in first instance by the National Office on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (Dirección Nacional de Derechos Humanos y Derecho Internacional Humanitario) against Army colonels Édgar Emilio Ávila Doria and Diego Padilla Ospina, and retired Army officer Carlos Andrés Nivia Serrano for their alleged participation in the murder of a protected person and criminal conspiracy.

This decision also affects soldiers Jorge Armando Areiza Gallego, Carlos Andrés Bedoya González, Ómar Alejandro Mejía Alzate, Juan Camilo Cortés Arias, Walter Arley Quiceno Daza, Manuel Francisco González Durán and Jorge Andrés Urango Higuita belonging to Pedro Nel Ospina Battalion – 4^Th Army Brigade.
