A preventive detention order with imprisonment was issued against Wílmar Benítez Urrego alias “Guacuco” or “Dubián” alleged 34 Farc Front ringleader by the 38th Municipal Judge in Medellín with supervisory functions (control de garantías) for rebellion offenses and use of illegal war means and methodologies.
According to investigations, this Front was the organization responsible for the installation of these explosive devices in the municipalities of Caicedo, Urrao, Dabeida, Frontino, Santafé de Antioquia and Mutatá. Investigators established that since 2007 to date, 32 army officers and 3 civilians have been victims of anti-personnel land mines in this Department of the country.
