After the Court approved a plea bargain between the defendant’s defense and the prosecutor, the 1st Specialized Criminal Court sentenced Luis Norberto Serna to 24 years and 7 months of prison for recruiting nine people who were subsequently murdered by National Army and then reported as people who was killed in false combats between 2006 and 2008.

The 55 year old man admitted that he took nine victims to different garrisons. Victims were Víctor Andrés Palacio Gamboa, Pablo Andrés Franco Herrón, Álvaro Hernán Díaz, Julián Andrés Arroyave Utima, Argiro de Jesús Montoya García, Edwin Andrés López Urueña, Carlos María Ramirez, José Luis García and Héctor de Jesús Grisales. They were labeled as criminals who were killed during combats.
