Today the Deputy Attorney General, Jorge Fernando Perdomo Torres, denied that the Attorney General´s Office has withdrawn judicial police officers from Medellin as it was stated this week by the Deputy Mayor of Governability in the city, Luis Fernando Suárez, and he emphasized that the department of Antioquia on the contrary has been strengthened with the creation of a Technical Investigation Team Sub directorate.
He pointed out that the purpose is to extent the presence of CTI in the municipalities in that region to avoid the spread of delinquency in Medellin. He also stated that a coordinated work with authorities has been carried out to fight against organized crime that operates downtown Medellin.
Perdomo Torres said that in the coming months Judicial Police staff will be expanded in Antioquia and it´s capital in order to deal with several ways of criminality.
