As a result of a home search, Criminal Investigation Team (CTI) members in Valledupar (Cesar) arrested Wilfrido Payares Fontalvo and James Darley Chávez Bonilla for aiding in the commission of hydrocarbons trafficking.

The first proceeding requested by the 28th Local Prosecutor´s Office in  Bosconia (Cesar) was conducted in El Recreo neighborhood in which Payares Fontalvo was arrested in flagrant. This person was in possession of 350 gallons of gasoline coming from Venezuela.

A second proceeding was conducted in El Carmen neighborhood in which Chávez Bonilla was also arrested in flagrant. This person was in possession of 55 gallons of gasoline coming from Venezuela that he was commercializing in Bosconia (Cesar). During supervisory hearings “control de garantías” the home searches and arrests were legalized. However, the judge considered that preventive detention orders were not appropriate since they did not have previous criminal records. Therefore, they were released and they continue linked to the case.
