The 23rd Municipal Criminal Court with supervisory functions (control de garantías) issued an arrest warrant against Julián Marulanda Calero with a view to extradition. He worked as Secretary at the Protection National Unit (Unidad Nacional de Protection). He is wanted for the crimes of extortion, bribery, breach of Public Duty and conspiracy to commit crimes.
Once Marulanda learned about an investigation that was conducting the Attorney General´s Office regarding an alleged illegal payment of receipts to contractors and the addressing of terms and conditions to assign contracts which was detected on august 25th at the Protection National Unit (Unidad Nacional de Protection), he left the country towards Miami. The Migration Authorities in Colombia confirmed it.
