Nelson Aguirre Castañeda, alias “Chapu” will serve a sentence of 12 years in prison for his participation in the attack against former Minister Fernando Londoño last may 2012.
The decision was made by a specialized criminal court in Bogotá after a plea bargain between Aguirre Castañeda’s defense lawyer and the Attorney General´s Office. The defendant pled guilty to the charges of aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes, terrorism, manufacture and illegal possession of weapons for the exclusive use of Armed Forces, use of minors to commit criminal acts.
