Judge declined nullity of indictment filed against former commander of the United Self Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC) North Bloc

By petition of the Attorney General´s Office, the 10^th Specialized Circuit Court in Bogotá declined the nullity of indictment requested by the defense of the former commander of United Self Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC) North Bloc, Alberto Joaquín Silgado Arévalo, where he is accused of being the author of the murder of Lisandro Vargas Zapata, professor at Universidad del Atlántico.

The murder occurred on February 23^rd, 2001 when the professor left his house located at Las Estrellas neighborhood, north area in Barranquilla and a man who covered his head with a baseball cap shot at him repeatedly.
