Three guerrillas of front Esteban Ramírez of the FARC whom eleven years ago downed a helicopter in Topaipi (Cundinamarca), which transported 380 million pesos of property of the Agrarian Bank of that population and that claimed the lives of five members of the National Police and left two others wounded, were captured and secured as co-authors of protected person homicide terrorism, destruction and appropriation of protected goods, aggravated theft and rebellion.

It was approximately twelve o’clock of June 14, 2002 were when a helicopter of the company Helicargo  that carrying $380 million pesos of the company takes Greg Sons, bound to the Agrarian Bank of Topaipi (Cundinamarca) landed in the bullring in that municipality, located one kilometre from the town centre.

After landing, members of the national police providing security for the money transfer to the Bank they were attacked by members of FARC front Esteban Ramirez, , which generated at that site die Sergeant Cesar Cardozo Ortiz, the subintendent Wilder Arias Mosquera, Subintendent José Ríos Martínez, the agent Jairo Gómez Ospina and agent Jorge Humberto Beltrán Chala and was wounded the captain (r) Alberto Hernández Páez pilot of the aircraft.

The guerrillas stole weapons endowment of members of the Police: 5 7.62 Galil rifles, three revolvers, suppliers, fragmentation grenades, a communications radio, handcuffs and wearing uniforms and also personal items.

The helicopter pilot that carrying the money, at the time of the attack, tried to raise the aircraft, but this was attacked with blasts of rifle and grenades, situation that generated that fall to the ground and ignite.

Toyota Land Crusier vehicle, owned by the municipality of Topaipí, who was on which was going to carry the money to the Bank, was also attacked by the guerrillas with firearms and grenades.

As a result of the attack five police officers died, while the helicopter pilot and two bodyguards of the conveyor of values were injured.

The guerrillas captured and sheltered with security measures without benefit of release by a Prosecutor of the national unity against terrorism are: Luis Ëdgar Marín Cifuentes, alias John or perejil, and John Cristobal Matta León, alias Yesid or piña, and the demobilized Luis Fernando Ospina Valencia, alias Brayan.
