The Attorney General of Nation, Eduardo Montealegre Lynett said today in Antioquia that disagrees with the proposal made by the FARC from Havana for the legalization of illicit crops in the country.
The official said that it is a feasible proposal for Colombia and internationally, and that such an initiative requires an international consensus that does not exist.
He said some international treaties allow the production of some ancient indigenous cultures and explained that to fight drug trafficking requires a serious criminal policy, the pursuit of illicit crops and a frontal fight against money laundering.
He said that the reform presented by the Prosecutor and approved by him, it allows the creation of a new judicial police specializing in forfeiture and reduced research time for that offense.
These statements were made at the end of the Forum “Reflections on valuation of environmental costs”, organized by the General Audiroria in El Carmen de Viboral (Antioquia).
