Today, the bill granting extraordinary powers pro tempore to the President of the Republic of Colombia has been approved by Senate’s plenary session, in last debate, in order to modify the structure and the staff of the Office of the Attorney-General and to issue the regime of civil service and administrative career.
This initiative is intended to build a dynamic and flexible entity to effectively combat new forms of organized crime through the implementation of new and better investigation trends, prioritization of cases, updating its procedures, the strengthening of its staff and its technological renewal.
The initiative includes, among other things, the creation of a nationwide public university to train and to provide scientific knowledge of criminal investigation, criminalistics and those related to different areas required by the Office of the Attorney-General of Colombia.
