Before a Supervising Judge in Bucaramanga – Santander, a Prosecutor of the National Anti-Corruption Unit laid charges against former civil servants of the Mayor’s Office of the municipality of San Vicente de Chucurí, Santander and some contractors in the region for the offenses of embezzlement, contract without compliance with the legal requirements and forgery of a public document.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the civil servants and the contractors would be involved in the nonperformance of a contract to build a rural aqueduct, the purchase of a land lot in order to recover water sources, the modification of the contractual object and irregularities in others procedures in which forgeries and the non-application of the principles of public contracting were discovered, as well as possible appropriation of resources in the amount of $1.825´238, 316, 80 pesos.
The decision also covered Emilse Suarez Pimiento, former Mayor of San Vicente de Chucurí; Lary Yajaira Mendoza Acevedo, former planning secretary; Edgar Jose Uribe Schroeder, controller of the company EUCO; Vilner Johanny Delgado Murillo, Controller; Libardo Angulo Rojas, contractor; Ronald Gustavo Ramirez Contreras, controller; Rocio del Pilar Vesga Ardila, contractor and Henry Torres Silva, contractor.
The charges were not accepted by the defendants.
