A Preventive detention measure was ordered against 7 members of a drug trafficking network from the Bronx sector in the main city of the country. The decision was taken by the 15th Criminal Judge of Bogota at request of  the 30 Specialized Prosecutor in the Fight Against Criminal Gangs.

At the Hearing, the prosecutor said that the network was dismantled thanks to monitoring labors. This network obtained profits over 170 million pesos per day because of narcotics sales. He added that at least three of the accused are recognized as some of the largest dealers of narcotics at the country’s capital.

As a result of home searches at the Olaya, Quirigua and Los Laches neighborhoods, a large quantity of marijuana and cocaine was seized. These drugs were transported from the Caquetá Department and then distributed in Bogota.

In addition, the death of several members of another criminal networks is under investigation.

During the hearing, the defendants did not accepted crimes of using minors for the commission of crimes, conspiracy  to commit drug trafficking, traffic, manufacturing and illegal carrying of firearms along  with traffic, manufacturing and carrying narcotic drugs.

At the end of the hearing, Oscar Darío Cañón López, Jorge Alberto Ruiz Erazo, Miguel Antonio Romero Moreno, Germán Sánchez Quiroga  and Luis Alfonso Moreno Ramírez were sent to La Picota prison.   Natalí Carvajal Farías and  Rosa Helena Moreno Ramírez were sent to El Buen Pastor prison.
