A judge serving as Supervisory Judge in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander) issued a Preventive Detention measure in a prison facility against Pedro Pablo García Ortega as presumed co-conspirator of the murder of a 10 year old minor.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged a man with counts of aggravated homicide and attempt homicide for the facts that happened on October 22, 2010, when the individual came in a business shooting indiscriminately, which caused injuries to two people, as well as the death to a minor, son of the one injured.

According to the investigation conducted by agents of the Technical Investigation Team (CTI) of the Office of the Attorney General, two individuals had arranged to meet with one of the wounded persons in the premises and when the attacker came into the business, they moved away from the place. One of them was Garcia Ortega.

The Prosecutor’s Office determined that the other two investigated – the alleged perpetrator and the co-perpetrator – fled to Venezuela, so a Red Notice was issued by Interpol.

García Ortega was transferred to La Modelo prison in the capital of the Norte de Santander department.
