The 59° Criminal Municipal Judge in Bogota, acting as supervisory judge, issued a measure to ensure defendant’s appearance at trial against Nicolás Dussán Molina as alleged responsible who pushed a university student into an elevator’s pit.

In his decision, the judge justified the resolution by considering that the possibility of Dussan’s absence to the proceedings is high. The accused was sent to Colombia La Picota Central Penitentiary, in the South of the capital of the country.

The Prosecutor, on the other hand, indicated that Dussan Molina became part of a group of youths who beat and caused serious injury to the second semester student of law in the Universidad Católica, Cristian David Jimenez Acuña, who is currently unconscious and with brain injuries.

The incident happened on July 15, 2012 during a party in the apartment 504 of Carlos Lleras Restrepo residential area, in Ciudad Salitre area, Northwest of Bogota.

During the hearing, which was carried out behind closed doors, the accused accepted the offence of attempted aggravated homicide. Dussan Molina appeared voluntarily to the Technical Investigation Team (CTI) investigators who made effective an arrest warrant issued against the accused.

On August 14, 2012, the 28° Criminal Municipal Judge in  Bogotá, acting as Supervisory Judge, issued a measure to ensure defendant’s appearance at trial against Hans Herbert Acuña Morales and Andrés Eduardo Ruiz Riveros, while the youngs Ramiro de Jesús, Gloria Lambraño, Manuel Camilo  Andrés Bernal Pardo and Manuel Francisco Abril López, have been placed house arrested.
