Committal to trial to Luis Hernando Gómez Bustamante, alias ‘Rasguño’ (scratch) has been confirmed by the delegated Prosecutor´s Office before the Superior Court in Bogotá for the alleged commission of crimes such as private individual illicit enrichment and money laundering.
The decision was taken since Gomez Bustamante’s defense had appealed the resolution which brought charges of the case that a prosecutor assigned to the National Unit against Narcotics and Maritime Interdiction (Unaim) had taken on November 26, 2010.
The determination indicates that the judicial action is not expired and there are not grounds for trial annulment, as requested by the Gomez’s defense.
At the request of the U.S. authorities, Gomez Bustamante was extradited in July 2007.
