Four responsible got a 10 and 11 years in prison sentence by 50 Criminal Court of the Circuit of Bogotá for the offenses of embezzlement and falsification of a public document in Cajanal defrauding case.

In the same decision, the sentenced individuals were fined by the judge for 4,875 million pesos.

The decision affected the following individuals: Rosalba Fonseca Florida, former secretary of the Third Criminal Court of the Circuit of Bogotá, who will serve 11 years in prison and Ómar Cabrera Polanco, Luis Mario González Torres and María Liz del Socorro Góngora (members of the “Cartel de Los Cabrera’), to 10 years in prison, each one.

The facts investigated by the Attorney General Office are related to a false “Writ of Fundamental Rights”, supposedly, issued by the Third Criminal Court of the Circuit of Bogotá, on December 12, 2002.

In such writ, the right to due process and equality were protected and it was ordered to Cajanal to re-liquidate the retirement pensions granted to 218 teachers, who were not entitled to these.

Cajanal fulfilled what the writ ordered and the resulting detriment to the State.
