Material evidences collected by the Attorney General Office have allowed to a Criminal Judge in Puerto Asís (Putumayo) to sentence three former self-defense members to 24 years in prison and two Farc members to 25 years, as responsible for killing five civilians in “La Hormiga” country area.
The killing of three persons, among them, two minors; other civilians injured and several housing damages during an armed clash between 48 Farc Front and self-defense South Block, on September 7, 2005 has been proved by the Attorney General Office.
As a result, 12 corpses of guerrilla and self-defenses fighters were left after the confrontation.
Arnoldo Santamaría Galindo, alias Pipa, self – defenses South Block commander, Luis Antonio Graciano Borja, alias Julio, and Carlos Mario Ospina Bedoya, alias Tomate.(tomato) were sentenced to 24 years in prison by the judge .
Insurgents: Edward Alexander Ayala, alias Fuego Verde (green fire) and Diego Hernán Muñoz Rodríguez, alias Rogelio will serve 25 years for the same offences.
The convicts will serve their sentence in La Picota Prison in Bogotá and a jail in Puerto Asis town respectively
