Juan Bautista Orrego Agudelo, alleged ringleader of “Los Rastrojos” gang in the northeastern Antioquia, was affected with a remand in custody by the First Special Circuit Criminal Court fighting against criminal gangs in Antioquia Department, which accepted the request submitted by the Prosecutor’s Office, regarding this subject.

The individual, who is on remand at present, was apprehended last August 3, in a rural area of Segovia (Antoquia), after a clash with the National Army troops which found 5 thousand, 800 cartridges for rifle, 17 magazines, 3 fragmentation grenades and communication radios.

Orrego Agudelo, as known as “Culebra” (snake), was charged by Prosecutor’s Office for his alleged responsibility of aggravated criminal association to commit an offence, illegal possession of weapons and ammunition for civilian and military use, and illicit use of communications equipment.
