After have accepted a Plea Bargaining, three former leaders of the 47 Farc Front have been sentenced to 17 years, two months in prison and a fine of $1041 minimum wage, each one, for their responsibility of forced disappearance and homicide.

Elda Neyis Mosquera García, alias Karina, Pedro Luis Pino Balderrama, alias Fuego Verde (Green fire) and Leonardo Quintero Marín, alias Leo have been covered by a ruling of the Circuit Penal Court in La Dorada town (Caldas).

In accordance with the investigation laid down in 11 Prosecutor’s Office – National Unit for Disappearance and Forced Displacement, facts happened in March 2001, when guerrilla members arrived in Mr. Óscar Mario Cifuentes Giraldo’s farm, located in Florencia de Samaná Village (Caldas), and after intimidated him, he was tied and taken out from his house.

Subsequently, homicide responsibility of the current convicted persons was established in the course of statement procedures.

At present, alias Fuego Verde (Green Fire) and alias Karina are serving 40 years of imprisonment each, for Montebonito massacre perpetrated in March 2006 in Marulanda (Caldas).  Mosquera Garcia also served 33 years of imprisonment for Arboleda (Caldas) storming in July 2000.

Further Sentence

Also, Circuit Penal Court in La Dorada Town (Caldas) has imposed 20 years, 10 months prison sentence and a fine of 2.361 minimum wage against Mosquera García, after agreed to accept his responsibility for the offences of forced disappearance and homicide of a protected person.

This further sentence arises from facts happened on March 7, 2002 in Florencia de Samaná (Caldas) village, where the peasant Aparicio Murillo Bolívar had disappeared.
